In just the past six days, India has recorded more than 1.8 million new COVID-19 infections. The healthcare system is overwhelmed with patient needs for oxygen, ventilators and medication. Hundreds are being turned away while others wait in endless lines outside of hospitals for a chance to get medical attention.

Our brothers and sisters in Mumbai, New Delhi, and all throughout India are suffering greatly due to this distressing situation. Some are sick themselves, while others scramble to find help for sick loved ones. Our spiritual family is in desperate need of our support! The most common need is for funding to help pay for medical care, oxygen machines, medications, funeral expenses, and for those who have lost their jobs - support to help pay for groceries and rent.

100% of the funds received at the ETF website will be given to the 26 individual families in need, as listed below. These specific requests for support were provided to ETF by church leaders in India, and the average request in the list below is $535 USD. Below is a list of the individual disciples and disciple families who are seeking assistance. Your generosity during this time will go a long way to help!

The Battambang Church of Christ (BBCC) in Northwest Cambodia is grieving the loss of a faithful and loving sister, Ming (auntie) Phalla, who was a noble wife and mother to three children. She first heard about Jesus at a refugee camp after being orphaned by and then surviving the Khmer Rouge genocide. In January of 2013, she and her husband Bouthla became disciples of Jesus and never looked back. Ming Phalla faced many challenges as a disciple including persecution, health challenges, and having her house burn down. But her faith never faltered.

She spent the last ten years managing a restaurant that trained young women rescued from vulnerable life situations. She was the rock of her family, she greeted everyone she came across with a big smile, and she was not only ready to go to heaven but was eagerly looking forward to it. At the hospital, even after her emergency surgery, she sang songs and shared her faith with staff until just hours before God called her home.

Ming Phalla’s sudden death has left her family with the significant expenses of preparing and transferring her remains to her home province for burial during a Covid-19 travel ban in the country. Any support we can give her will glorify God and reflect Ming Phalla’s heart to selflessly help others in need.

Thanks for your consideration.

My name is Saneliso, a Nurse Educator by profession. I am a mother of two children, a 19 year old son (Michael) and a 14 year old daughter (Naomi). I was met in 1997 while training as a nursing student, studied the bible, got baptized and became a disciple in 1998. In 1999, I met Tazvi in the singles ministry, dated for a while and then got married in 2000. God blessed us with the above mentioned children that we cherish and natured together until November 14, 2020 when he collapsed and died instantly but he had not been obviously ill. It was sad to learn that he had cardiomyopathy that none of us knew about. He was a very active, soft spoken man that never complained nor grumbled about anything.

Life has not been the same since his passing on. He was a Lecturer in Tool Making Engineering Department at one of the government Colleges. My late husband was a responsible man who loved us and God‘s people. At the time of his death, we were serving as Benevolence Ministry Leaders and part of the Church Leadership Team. Previously, our church in Bulawayo did not have full time leaders and Tazvi (and I supporting) served as a Ministry leader (part time) for 12 years, from 2007 to 2019 when the church appointed an Evangelist and his wife from Harare to take over as full time leaders.

It has now been close to half a year since he went to be with the Lord and I am so grateful to have been with a wonderful man who helped me to remain focused on the cross. However, with our prevailing economic challenges, I am struggling to support my children with their education. Everything happened so suddenly and I am still trying to make adjustments so I can live within my means and support my children. I am paying the mortgage for our home, medical insurance, funeral policy, bills, fuel and our basic necessities so it has been tough.

I desperately need funding for my son who is supposed to continue with his education. We are required to pay for application fee for a scholarship to secure the place on or before 15 April 2021.

This phase of life is very unusual and full of uncertainties but being a part of the huge family of God, I trust that I will finish strong with all the support that I continue to receive.

Dear brothers and sister in Christ, through this letter I wish to share with you about our dear brother Pedro in our International Church of Christ in Saltillo.
Pedro has been a faithful disciple for more than 26 years, and has served as a missionary in Cuba and Toluca as a full-time minister. He is a great husband and a great father to his children.
The last few months have been very difficult for Pedro as he has faced health problems which has led to countless lab studies and treatments. Additionally, his mother who had been battling cancer passed away earlier this year and his sister also passed away less than month later from COVID-19 complications.
Pedro and his family are grieving and deeply troubled by the expenses they have incurred due to his medical treatments and the funeral arrangements for both his mother and sister. The church in Saltillo has done their best to provide support, but they are unable to assist him with all their needs. Your assistance for our brother will help to alleviate some of their financial burden and ease their emotional pain.
