My name is Gaby Castanedo. I have been a follower of Christ for 29 years in Mexico City. My brother introduced me to church. I suffer from heart failure due to a cardiovascular condition. I am 61 years old, a widow, and require oxygen around the clock. In addition to heart failure, I also have hypertension and hypothyroidism. My psychiatrist has prescribed medication to help me manage my mental health, as these illnesses have been very difficult to bear.
I used to crochet clothes to sell and generate income, but now I have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. An upcoming x-ray will determine if I need surgery on my hand. Unfortunately, I can no longer crochet due to my injured tendons. I am also reliant on my government disability aid of 2,800 Mexican pesos every two months.
