I hope The Lord is allowing you to feel His mighty love in every blessing in your lives. My name is Jose and I have been a disciple in Guatemala for the last years.
I would like to share with you what happened on March 09, 2020. I had a motorcycle accident when I was getting home after work. I hurt my hand, arm, shoulder and the worst impact on my right knee. Our social security is deficient and our national hospitals are not assisting this kind of illness.
On Friday, August 14th 2020, I managed the reception of a donation and, as usual, I was counting, carrying, and unloading. While doing this I injured my right knee on the tailgate of a freight pick-up. This made the pain and mobility on my knee even worse. I could afford for the MRI scan and this allowed me to have the diagnostic: meniscus tear and partial tear of posterior ligament. An expert has evaluated my case and his best solution is a knee Arthroscopy and meniscectomy, unfortunately the cost of these procedures are higher than my possibilities.
I have been looking for a trauma orthopedics-surgeon. Therefore our sister in Christ Pamela has been interceding for me by finding a specialist who decided to donate his experience, time and willingness, so now he is only charging 40% which is $1,600.00 out of the total cost.
The necessity of the surgery is due to constant pain, swelling, limited mobility and the bone damage caused during these 6 months without treatment on the mentioned knee. The surgery is vital for mobility and my ability to continue working for the nonprofit that I serve in Guatemala, Having the surgery will allow me to restart working and help serve with the medical brigades, receiving donations, bringing food supplies, helping and supporting the ill disciples or any other necessity, and many other assignments.
I would like to share with you my deep desire to keep working in service of our brothers and sisters in Guatemala as I have been doing especially during this difficult time, but it is difficult for me because of the present situation. I know God never leave us and he always surprises us through His amazing love. Therefore, I come to humbly and plead for your support with this situation. I know that globally there are enough resources to cover up all necessities, but I would really like to have this surgery so I can recover and keep working to serve The Lord and our brothers and sisters in need.
