Cambodia Education Fund
The Cambodian Education Fund is designed to help the children of disciples go to private schools. Public schools in Cambodia provide a very substandard level of education, and do not equip the students for success in the future. The students we support have been sponsored by ETF since they first started school, and they are required to keep good grades. The support they get for tuition and books is only offered to families in the church with limited income. By supporting the education of these amazing people, they are able to grow up and become leaders in the church and in their community. All of them want to be disciples someday, and two of them already made this decision. About Chim Dara:
My name is Dara and I am 20 years old. When I was 14 years old I had to stop going to school because my family needed me to go to Thailand for three years to work and provide financial support. Life was very difficult while I was there because I did not have a workers permit and I constantly had to move from one job to another. When my Dad became a disciple, church members helped me get back in school. I am working hard to catch up with my studies, but it is a big challenge for me. Things with my family are still very difficult financially because my mother is chronically ill, and my older brother has unfortunately developed a drug problem, but I am hopeful that obtaining a good education will change the course of my life. In the future I want to teach agriculture, help poor families and help kids like me stay in school. But most importantly, I hope to spread God’s word to others.
