Rae Mitchell, Jamaica

Dear Brothers & Siters, my name is Rae Mitchell. I am 58 years old and have been married to my wife, Marcia, for many years. Marcia and I have been disciples for over 35 years and are members of the Kingston Church of Christ in Jamaica. We have two children.

Recently, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer and was encouraged to begin treatment as soon as possible. I am currently unemployed and unable to work consistently because of my health condition. I recently found a job, but I was only able to work for a few weeks before my condition made it difficult for me to continue. My wife, Marcia, also lives with myasthenia gravis, a rare autoimmune disease, which limits her ability to work normally. Because of both of our health challenges, our household currently has no stable income.

Our son is attending university and doing his best to support himself, while our daughter is actively looking for employment. Despite everyone's efforts, our family is experiencing significant financial hardship and is struggling to meet our basic needs, as well as the medical expenses associated with our health conditions.

We have received some support through our ministry's Love Basket program, which provides us with groceries each month. More recently, we also requested benevolent assistance from the church, and we have been approved to receive a supermarket card that will be topped up monthly. We are very grateful for the support we have already received from our church family. I am writing to humbly request financial assistance from Especially The Family (ETF) during this difficult season for me and my family. Any assistance would help us with our medical needs and provide some support as we navigate my cancer treatment and the challenges that come with it.

Brothers and sisters, thank you for taking the time to consider my request. We are grateful for your prayers, support, and encouragement during this time. Please continue to pray for healing, strength, and wisdom for our family as we move forward. May God Bless you.

Request: $1,000
