Mario & Ana Yazmin -Costa Rica

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

My name is Ana Yazmin. I am an active member of the ICOC in Costa Rica and have been a disciple for 25 years. My husband, Mario Enrique, and I have been married for 40 years, and God has blessed us with two children. My husband and I are grateful for his monthly pension, which we carefully budget to cover our household expenses. However, our financial situation has become more challenging because of Mario’s ongoing health problems.

He suffers from several chronic conditions, including diabetes, high blood pressure, keratoconus (a condition that affects the cornea), and a prostate condition. More recently, he experienced what was described as a pre-heart attack episode, after which his health declined, and he developed serious cardiac arrhythmias. He now spends much of his time resting in bed. Although he is not bedridden, his condition makes it difficult for him to move around or remain active for extended periods.

We are currently waiting for several medical examinations that have been considered priorities for his prostate condition. However, due to the overcrowding and strain on the public healthcare system, some of these examinations have been scheduled as far ahead as 2027 and 2029. Because of the need to evaluate his condition sooner and provide appropriate follow-up for his various health concerns, we have considered obtaining some of the necessary examinations and consultations through private healthcare services. Unfortunately, the cost of these services, along with consultations with different specialists, is beyond what we can currently afford.

For this reason, I am respectfully reaching out to ETF to ask for your consideration and any financial assistance that may be available to help us cover part of Mario’s medical expenses and enable him to receive the care he needs. This situation has been a challenge for our family, both emotionally and financially. Despite these difficulties, we continue to hold on to our faith and hope in God while doing our best to move forward and ensure that he receives the necessary medical care.
