My name is Bobby and my wife Susan are elders of the Church in Manila, Philippines, and are grateful to God that all our children are disciples. Our son Joey, 25 years old, is a very active leader in the YoPro Ministry in Manila. In December 2024, Joey was diagnosed with necrotizing fasciitis, a rare and life-threatening flesh-eating disease that spreads rapidly. This aggressive disease claims 1 in 3 lives within 12-48 hours. Joey's initial symptoms were severe hand and wrist pain, which quickly developed into bruising and blisters. When he went into septic shock, affecting his heart, kidneys, and blood pressure, his team of doctors acted swiftly to save him. They saved his life, and the only way to survive his life was to remove his arm. Joey remained critical in the ICU for 48 hours as his organs and blood pressure stabilized. By God's grace, he is on the road to recovery, and his faith and courage during the darkest time of our lives led us to trust God.
Joey is a left-handed graphic artist by profession, and the same left hand and arm were amputated to save his life. We are reaching out to ETF for any financial assistance you can provide for our son, as the final bill has reached Php 2.5 million. Our Family is trying to augment the medical expenses still needed for Joey's rehabilitation, therapy, prosthesis, and periodic diagnostics.
