My name is Fábio, and I am 50 years old. I have been following Jesus for 30 years. I live in Belo Horizonte with my wife, Viviane, to whom I have been married for 22 years, and our 14-year-old son—both of whom are disciples. Over the years, I have served in various ministries at our church in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, and I currently serve alongside my wife in the ministry for married couples, in addition to preaching at Sunday services.
Since 2019, I have been battling Parkinson's disease, which worsened in 2024, causing stiffness, pain, and weakness on my right side. I have been approved for Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) surgery, but the cost is beyond what we can afford. As the main provider for my family, accepting this reality has been a great challenge. My illness limits my ability to work consistently, as even basic tasks become difficult at times.
My dream is to regain my health so I can continue serving God through my work in the Church, provide for my family, and, through my Psychology studies, help and support people with chronic illnesses. I am reaching out to ETF for assistance so I can continue my treatment and undergo surgery. This opportunity would be life-changing, giving me another chance to enjoy life and serve God more. The road ahead is long, but I am confident that God is with me and my family during this difficult time.
