Evelyn Efeludu, a 42-year-old and a member of the International Church of Christ in Lagos, is married with four children: Peace, Rachel, Christian, and Daniel. The family has endured significant hardship. Evelyn's husband suffered a workplace accident while working as a machine operator, resulting in the loss of his limbs. This tragedy was compounded by a terminal illness that has left him bedridden for over four years. Her husband's illness has depleted the family's finances, making necessary treatment and medication unaffordable. With him incapacitated, Evelyn's entire financial burden has fallen. Consequently, two of her children have been forced to leave school because they can no longer afford the fees. Evelyn operates a small roadside photocopying business that barely provides for the family's basic needs. Last year, this meager source of income was further jeopardized when local authorities demolished her shop due to unpaid documentation and licensing fees.
Living in a single room, the Efeludu family now faces immense challenges. Covering rent, providing two meals a day, paying medical and school expenses, and sustaining Evelyn's small business have become nearly impossible. Therefore, the Efeludu family urgently appeals to ETF for support during this difficult time. Any financial assistance from ETF would significantly relieve the burden on Evelyn, the family's sole provider. For such support, the Efeludu family would be eternally grateful to ETF.
