My name is Evangeline, a 53-year-old single mother and a dedicated disciple for the past seven years. I currently reside in Naga City, Philippines. My journey as a disciple began when I was baptized in ICOC Dubai, UAE, in October 2017. Due to the challenges posed by the pandemic, I decided to return to the Philippines in 2020, with the primary purpose of caring for my two children, who are both 14 years old. Since my return to the Philippines in 2020, I have been actively involved as a member of ICOC Naga City.
I was working as a contractual employee at the Department of Health when my health significantly deteriorated this year. I began to experience persistent pain, constipation, and bleeding during bowel movements. On September 20, 2023, I received a diagnosis of colorectal cancer. By the doctor's advice, I underwent surgery on October 24, 2023, and I am currently in the process of recovery. I am concerned that I may be unable to return to work following this operation.
On November 9, 2023, I had a follow-up check-up with my doctor, and I received the Surgical Pathology Report, which confirmed the previous Stage III diagnosis. The doctor recommended a continuous course of both chemotherapy and radiation therapy. I inquired about the expected expenses for these treatments, estimated to be around P200,000.
Considering this, I am contemplating a shift towards a holistic, non-invasive approach, which may also entail a comparable financial commitment. Given the circumstances, I am humbly requesting your healing prayers and financial support, as I have already incurred expenses totaling P360,000.00 for the surgery alone.
